Centenary of the Birth of the Poet Petöfi on 1st January 1823

Sándor Petöfi was both a Poet and a Liberal Revolutionary. All five stamps had a charity supplement equal to the face value, and were issued on January 13th.

Harvesters Type

Eleven new harvesters issues were made during 1923, as inflation gained pace. The boxes containg the value reverted to being single lined.

Madonna and Child Types

Six more of the Madonna and Child type were issued in 1923, with a new watermark. The 5000 korona is known with inverted centre, one of the great rarities amongst Hungarian stamps.
