Overprinted Definitives, January 1st

Four definitives from the 1926 and 1928 series were overprinted with new denominations. This group is complicated by having two perforations and two watermarks. The two watermark versions with Perf 14 of the 6 on 8 filler are particularly scarce. I will admit that having scanned these stamps three of that denomination appear to have forged overprints. I would welcome comments from anyone who can comment on this.

Firstly, the versions with cross-crosslet watermark.

10 on 16 filler blackish lilac Perf.15. SG 524	10 on 16 filler deep purple Perf.14. SG 524a	20 on 25 filler brown Perf.15. SG 525 Perf.14 is slightly scarcer

Secondly, the versions with cross on pyramid watermark.

Two of the 1930 high values were used in different colours.
